Effective July 12, 2026 · Warmer, the daily word game (iOS)

Warmer is built to know as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no email addresses, no advertising, no third-party analytics, and no cross-app tracking. This page describes the small amount of data the game does handle, and why.

What stays on your device

Your gameplay lives on your iPhone: guesses, ranks, wins, streaks, hint usage, statistics, and settings such as Reduce Motion or color-blind labels. Deleting the app deletes this data.

The anonymous player ID

The first time the app runs, it generates a random identifier (a UUID) and stores it in your device's Keychain. It is not derived from you or your device: it contains no name, email, phone number, Apple ID, contact, location, or advertising identifier, and we have no way to connect it to you. Its only job is to make sure each player counts once per puzzle in the daily statistics. Because it lives in the Keychain, it can survive deleting and reinstalling the app.

What is sent to our servers

What we never collect

Purchases

Warmer+ subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never see your payment details, billing address, or Apple ID. The app only learns whether your device has an active entitlement so it can turn Warmer+ features on.

Service providers

Our servers run on Vercel (hosting) and Neon (database). Like any web service, they briefly process your IP address to deliver responses, and standard server logs may record it for a short time for security and debugging. We do not store IP addresses with gameplay results or use them to identify players.

Retention and deletion

Results are kept to power lifetime statistics, keyed only to the random player ID. Deleting the app removes everything stored on your device. If you also want your anonymous results removed from our servers, email us (address below); since we cannot identify you, include your player ID if the app provides a way to view it, or simply ask and we will do our best with what you can provide.

Children

Warmer is a general-audience word game. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, children included; the data described above is anonymous by design.

Changes

If our data practices change, we will update this page and the effective date above before the change takes effect.
